If you’re looking for a smaller form-factor open air case, the Thermaltake Core P1 is worth considering. Ultimately, if you like what open frame cases bring to the table, but you want something large enough to give you plenty of options for your build, then the P7 might be a better option for you. This is mainly because if you were to use all three glass panels, there would be no point in having the extended chassis “wings.” But, an extra tempered glass panel for the top of the case would have been a nice option. The P7, however, doesn’t come with three removable tempered glass panels, but rather just one on the front. Like the P5, the P7 can accommodate graphics cards up to 22.4″ long and CPU coolers up to 7.0″ tall, both of which are enough clearance for any graphics card and CPU cooler currently on the market. The P7 has a very modular design and will give you plenty of options to work with if you’re planning on using it to house a custom liquid cooling loop. The main portion of the case is virtually the same design as the Core P5, however, the extended chassis feature (that kind of look like wings) give the case a lot of extra room to work with. The Core P7 has by far the largest layout of any of the cases listed in this post. We mentioned Thermaltake’s Core P7 above and we’ll discuss it further here. If you’re looking to build an open air PC and you have the budget to afford it, the Core P5 is an excellent option. Overall, the Core P5 is one of the top open frame computer cases currently available. Unlike the Core P3, which comes in white, red, and black, the Core P5 is only available in black. If you’re looking for the Core P5 in a different color scheme you’re out of luck. And, technically, you can keep the case completely closed off (minus the small gaps between the panels and the bottom of the case). So, if you are looking to go with a custom loop, this case has got you covered.Īll of the case’s four tempered glass panels can be removed. The case can also support 480mm radiators and it has a bunch of features tailored to custom liquid cooling setups. Both of those clearance numbers are large enough to accommodate any graphics card or air cooler on the market. It’s a standard ATX form factor case that can support graphics cards up to 22.4″ long and CPU coolers up to 7.0″ tall. In any case, the Core P5 is one of the most popular open air cases currently available. Yes, the Core P7 is the most expensive case in the Core P lineup, but I think with the P7’s extended chassis feature, it might not be an item that has as broad of an appeal as the more standard P5. *** Features, Price, Specifications are subject to change without notice. The Thermaltake Core P5 headlines Thermaltake’s Core P series of open frame cases. Here is my in-depth review of some of the discs and blades that come with the Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor. I’ve owned the Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor for almost 4 years now and feel that I’ve got a good handle on its capabilities. My Experience with the Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor You can run the food processor continuously with an automatic count-up timer, or you can pulse it for a more controlled chop. The smallest chute is useful for slicing cylindrical foods such as cucumbers and carrots as it helps control the angle at which the food hits the blade on the disc. The food processor has a wide chute for feeding food through that can be customized in to two smaller chutes. Additionally, a mini 2.5 cup chopping bowl is included for smaller processing jobs. The Sous Chef comes with an enormous 16-cup bowl that will be more than enough for most home-cooks. The Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor even includes a flexible scraper to ensure you get all your processed food out of the bowl, and a cleaning brush to help clean the hard to reach areas of the bowl, lid, and blades/discs. Having different sizes of dice is useful in controlling how fast your food cooks. The dicing kit comes with two new dicing blades/grids (8mm and 16mm). You can purchase an additional dicing kit to extend the functionality of your food processor. In addition to a 12mm dicing kit, the Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor includes a wide variety of blades and discs including: a peeling disc (peels up to 7 potatoes at a time), a full sized micro-serrated S-blade, a mini S-blade, a reversible coarse/fine shredding disc, a variable slicing disc (24 settings from 0.3mm-8mm), a julienne disc, a french fry cutting disc, a whisking disc, and a dough blade. Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice Food Processor: An Arsenal of Blades for Almost Any Cut Fortunately, Breville released an upgraded version of their popular 16 cup Sous Chef food processor: the Breville Sous Chef Peel & Dice. Until very recently, the only way I could have this dicing functionality with a food processor was to splurge on a commercial food processor, like the Robot Coupe. While slicing, julienning, and grating just requires one disc, a dicing kit requires two discs: one to do the slicing and the other to do the dicing. Dicing is a little more complex than the standard cutting functions of a food processor. One functionality that I knew I really wanted was the ability to dice. Looking for a Food Processor with Dicing Functionality
The soundtrack features alternative rock bands Soundgarden, Paw, Hammerbox, Therapy?, Monster Magnet, and Swervedriver. A total of 15 bikes are included, each individually rated in speed, acceleration, and handling. Cash earned from winning races can be used to purchase new bikes or to pay fines from being "arrested" by police. While each tier in Big Game Mode features the same five courses, all have varying lengths, traffic density, and police presence. The goal is to finish third or better in each of the five courses to earn cash and to open up the next tier of competition. Big Game Mode involves selecting one of eight colorful characters and competing in a total of 25 races on five Californian courses: Sierra Nevada, Napa Valley, Peninsula, The City, and Pacific Highway.Īfter selecting a character, players interact with competing drivers in a biker bar before hitting the open road. The former lets players enter a single race on their choice of courses and difficulty levels, while the latter is structured like a career. Two play options are available to rambunctious riders: Thrash Mode and Big Game Mode. The fourth entry in the franchise continues the point-to-point racing format of the Genesis games, with players knocking out rivals with fists, boots, or even pilfered weapons. Derivative works were re-engineered up for Microsoft Windows and Nintendo 64 platforms or reengineered down to Sega Mega-CD and the handheld consoles.Įlectronic Arts' motorcycle racing series makes its PlayStation debut with digitized graphics, a licensed soundtrack, and full-motion video cut-scenes. All of these games were called "Road Rash", despite being 4th in the series. When Road Rash debuted on the 32-bit home game consoles, they were initially ported from the 3DO version of the game. Depending on what the NPC preferred (some liked being hit, some didn't), the other racers would dynamically react to the player depending on how he or she was treated during the races. The character also had status among his or her fellow bikers, which was accessible after the race. Some of these characters' names come from combatants from the original Genesis releases, such as "Axle" and "Rhonda". The player could choose a character to play as, which came with a specific cash amount and a personal motorcycle. The game featured full motion video sequences to advance the plot. A version for the Super Nintendo was planned for release, but was eventually canceled. Road Rash, often called Road Rash 3D or Road Rash 3DO to distinguish it from the Genesis original of the same name, was originally released on the 3DO, and later for the Sony Playstation, Sega Saturn, and PC. The game's title is based on the slang term for the severe friction burns that can occur in a motorcycling fall where skin comes into contact with the ground at high speed. Road Rash and two of its sequels later appeared on the EA Replay collection for the PSP. Six different games were released from 1991 to 1999, and a 2004 licensed port for the Game Boy Advance was released. The game was originally released for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, but was ported to several other systems. Road Rash is the name of a motorcycle-racing video game series by Electronic Arts, in which the player participates in violent illegal street races. Zagreus witnessed Nyx being his greatest defender against his controlling fatherhood. Nyx was able to bring him back from the dead and change his tragic fate, but that did not stop her from reprimanding him or being tough on him from time to time. It is implied that Nyx may know even more than Hades about Persephone, but cannot tell him because of Hades' prohibitions, so he will have to discover the mysteries behind his mother's disappearance and himself on his own.Įven though supporting him means he will have to leave the "flax" and she will see him less frequently she encourages him. She never felt comfortable lying to him, unable to look at Zagreus without feeling guilt and responsibility for the conditions that bind him to the kingdom. She was the first to unconditionally support him and contact the Olympian gods to help him escape. She deeply supports Zagreus' desire to leave, and will grant him the "Mirror of Night", which will aid him in his quest for answers and self-discovery.Īlthough the chthonic gods represent darker aspects of humanity's reflections, and for this reason the Olympians dislike Nyx and fear her, Nyx is considered benevolent, approachable, and maternal towards Zagreus. Other writers have also used the name "BBC Pronunciation". The Cambridge-published English Pronouncing Dictionary (aimed at those learning English as a foreign language) uses the phrase " BBC Pronunciation", on the basis that the name "Received Pronunciation" is "archaic" and that BBC News presenters no longer suggest high social class and privilege to their listeners. Some linguists have used the term "RP" while expressing reservations about its suitability. The word 'received' conveys its original meaning of 'accepted' or 'approved', as in ' received wisdom'." Alternative names Īccording to Fowler's Modern English Usage (1965), "the correct term is 'the Received Pronunciation'. In 1922, the BBC selected RP as its broadcasting standard, citing its being widely understood globally as a reason. RP has most in common with the dialects of what has been termed the South East Midlands, in particular the Golden Triangle of universities, namely London, Oxford and Cambridge, and the public schools that fed them, such as Eton, Harrow and Rugby. Īlthough a form of Standard English had been established in the City of London by the end of the 15th century, it did not begin to resemble RP until the late 19th century. is a variable quantity differing from individual to individual, although all its varieties are 'received', understood and mainly unnoticed". The early phonetician Alexander John Ellis used both terms interchangeably, but with a much broader definition than Jones's, saying, "There is no such thing as a uniform educated pron. A similar term, received standard, was coined by Henry C. Du Ponceau in 1818 and the Oxford English Dictionary cites quotations back to about 1710. In the first edition of the English Pronouncing Dictionary (1917), he named the accent " Public School Pronunciation" for the second edition in 1926 he wrote: "In what follows I call it Received Pronunciation, for want of a better term." However, the term had been used much earlier by P. The introduction of the term Received Pronunciation is usually credited to the British phonetician Daniel Jones. RP is an accent, so the study of RP is concerned only with matters of pronunciation other areas relevant to the study of language standards such as vocabulary, grammar, and style are not considered. For over a century, there has been argument over such questions as the definition of RP, whether it is geographically neutral, how many speakers there are, whether sub-varieties exist, how appropriate a choice it is as a standard and how the accent has changed over time. Received Pronunciation ( RP) is the accent traditionally regarded as the standard and most prestigious form of spoken British English.
